For
youth groups, please be aware of Habitat for
Humanity International's and Copper Country
Habitat's policies regarding minimum age for
construction volunteers. We encourage youth
groups to help out in alternate ways other
than during active construction. Please
contact the Copper Country Habitat office
for suggestions, 906-482-5376,
cchfh@pasty.com.
Church
Groups
Habitat
for Humanity actively encourages area
churches to become Covenant Churches.
Habitat Covenant Church agreements vary.
Your church could organize a construction
crew for a specific day or task, provide
lunch at the construction site, collect a
special offering for Habitat, recruit
volunteers to serve on our committees or the
Board, find a family partner, and include
our work in your prayers. Our success
depends on strong grassroots support, which
comes from individuals, churches, small
businesses, corporations, and other service
organizations.
Michigan
Tech Chapter
Michigan
Technological University has a Campus
Chapter of Habitat for Humanity. This
group traditionally participates in a “blitz
build” during Orientation week at the
university near the end of August each year.
Donating
If
your volunteer time is already committed,
consider offering support by sponsoring a
house or through a donation of money,
services, or materials. We are proud to have
sponsors come back year after year with
their commitment to Copper Country Habitat
for Humanity. Individuals, churches, and
companies that donate money, materials, and
services greatly extend our ability to build
low-cost decent, affordable, energy
efficient housing.
Become a partner in Copper Country Habitat
for Humanity. We welcome all helping hands.
To volunteer, please call (906) 482-5376 and
leave a message with a return phone number.
Or, send an email to cchfh@pasty.com.
